COURSE STRUCTURE Part 1: This course relates to the management and maintenance of both indoor and outdoor facilities and equipment, including swimming pools, locker rooms, buildings, gymnasiums, and sports turf. Content includes monitoring the condition of equipment, routine maintenance programming and simple repair procedures. Part 2: This course develops a manager's ability to participate effectively as part of a design team for major works, or to plan and direct contrators in the development of minor facilities. It covers: - Ergononmic considerations - Managing construction work - Design of sportsgrounds - Design of indoor facilities - Design of gymnasium equipment There are 13 lessons as follows 1. Introduction to Facility Management 2. Water Facilities 3. Sports Turf Facilities 4. Gymnasiums 5. Public Buildings 6. Toilets & Locker Rooms 7. Introduction to Design 8. Ergonomics 9. Outdoor Facilities 10. Indoor Facilities 11. Interior Design 12. Equipment Design 13. Managing Construction Aims
Half of this course focuses on facility design and the other half on managing maintenance of a facility.
