Hospitality for High School Students Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations) – for Australian high school students RTO No: 0269 National Code: THH21802 BOS Code: 12750 (Year 11) & 16750 (Year 12) Duration: 240 Hours by 2 years (during year 11 and 12 of high school) Description: The William Blue College of Hospitality and Tourism VET course gives high school students the opportunity to earn an industry-recognised Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations), with the option of two units of the Higher School Certificate being attributable to the University Admissions Index. The Food and Beverage Strand provides a logical progression through the tasks and challenges that confront Hospitality professionals on a daily basis. Valuable, sought-after skills are acquired and developed through practical and encouraging course activities such as industry visits, hands-on sessions and work experience. Course Requirements: Students must achieve all units of competency and complete a minimum commitment of work placement to achieve AQF status. For recognition of two units towards a student’s HSC, a two-hour examination is required. Advantages for Students:
Work Placement: Work placement is a compulsory component of the Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations). 70 hours of work placement is conducted using the Billy Blue Brasserie and Fidelio computer laboratory for Computerised Hotel Management Systems. Credit Points for Advanced Standing in the Advanced Diploma of the Hospitality Management program are given in recognition of completed core competencies and 35 hours towards the required 800 hours Industry Placement. |
